Overview About “The Language of Letting Go” by “Melody Beattie”
In her work as a codependency counselor, bestselling author Melody Beattie found that there are three types of codependents. What is your type? Which part of your life needs to change most? Are you always pushing yourself to be perfect, or do you give in too easily and allow others to use you? Do you feel that people can take advantage of you because you’re so nice? Do your low self-esteem and shame cause problems in your relationships and professional success? This book will show that letting go is one of life’s greatest lessons. But only if we let ourselves be taught. The more we accept ourselves—warts and all—the more we learn to love who we are at any given moment.
Reviews About “The Language of Letting Go” by “Melody Beattie”
The Language of Letting Go is an outstanding book. I was at my wit’s end when I picked up this book, feeling like there must be some way to get through to my difficult, angry teenager. This book gave me a different perspective on her and taught me a much more effective way to communicate with her and motivate her. In just one week since reading it, we have seen such an improvement in our relationship that I can hardly believe it. We now have open communication and she seems to be motivated for positive change. There are really no words for how thankful I am for The Language of Letting Go…it truly has been life-changing!
