Review About “Parable of the Sower” by “Octavia E. Butler”

Review 1#: I found that although Parable of the Sower seemed to be a science fiction novel, it was based on human belief systems as they relate to one’s environment. The main character (Laurel) has experienced many hardships because she is not accepted in society; which is due to her skin being dark and her poor economic status within her family. The main character also believes in all religions, which could possibly cause conflict with other characters who are Muslim or Jewish for example, but she does not care about how others view religion because she understands that everyone has their own beliefs and opinions on life and who can judge them for having different views on faith? If one person believes in something so strongly then why should anyone else try to change that person’s mind?
