This reviewer would like to share their thoughts on The Dark Bones: The first book in a two-part trilogy. It focuses on seven people who all have had a previous life that they didn’t know about until they started having strange dreams. These dreams lead them to realize that they were/are once again chosen to fight against evil forces trying to destroy Earth…all over again! An exciting read that leaves you wanting more!
About “Loreth Anne White” the author of “The Dark Bones”
The love of family, and especially a missing daughter, is at the heart of The Dark Bones. It’s there when Carol discovers her mother has Alzheimer’s. And it’s one of Jorie’s first memories as a child—her mother going off to work in a very different place than a factory and promising to return when her shift was over. It stays with them through childhood, into adulthood; reappearing when one hears word that another has gone missing. And it’s almost what reunites them after so many years apart. Although darker than I expected, and not quite what I anticipated based on others’ reviews here on Goodreads (I just finished reading One of Us is Lying for example). I did enjoy The Dark Bones quite a bit. I would give it 4 stars if Goodreads allowed half-stars…and probably 31⁄2 if they didn’t!
