The first novel in the series, Fallen, tells the story of seventeen-year-old Luce, who falls in love with an angel named Daniel only to discover that she has to betray him to save her human friends. She is torn between her love for Daniel and her loyalty to those she cares about most.

Rapture, written by Lauren Kate is a romance story with a very new set of characters. Daniel takes out Luce to a black-tie party where they can be together alone and remember what it was like before her parents died in an accident. Sparks fly while they dance and Luce is finally able to understand some things about his past and why he’s so distant. Although many moments do not make sense throughout their relationship, at least there are more positive than negative ones now.

In her latest novel, Lauren Kate has brought us back to a supernatural story of Fallen Angels and Nephilim. I have always liked reading angel-themed novels and it’s still my favorite genre among all others. It’s also kind of nice to read a similar book to Fallen with an entirely different plotline as in Passion, Reckless, and so on. But if you’re looking for something like those novels, don’t expect Rapture to live up to it! I think that Rapture is very different from her other books (again) and it’s mostly because of Luce’s past life.
