D. Stanley Eitzen is a professor of sociology at Northern Arizona University where he has taught for over 30 years. He is best known for his development of ethnic stratification theory as well as numerous other works including A Sociology of Contemporary Ethnicity in America. Which many scholars consider being an important contribution to sociological theory on ethnicity in America. He has also written The Social Structure of Cities which was published by NYU Press in 2000.
