When it comes to Chemistry books, there’s no question that the best one available in Chemistry. The Molecular Nature of Matter and Change by Martin Silberberg (7th Edition). In fact, I can say this confidently because I used it myself in college. And just last month I went to the bookstore to buy myself another copy for my own collection. This book covers everything you could possibly learn about chemistry, from how to calculate heat capacity to how to recognize different elements and compounds in the real world.

Overview About “Chemistry The Molecular Nature of Matter and Change 7th Edition”

Chemistry is an interesting book that discusses chemistry, chemical bonding, chemical equilibrium, catalysis in detail. This book also emphasizes different types of chemical reactions. It includes a wide variety of applications to bring students closer to reality. The text makes a strong point in developing students’ understanding that application is often more important than basic theories. This book has great features such as Acknowledgements, Biographical Sketch of Contributors, and Photo Credits; we are grateful for their contributions to make our text stronger. We hope you will find those interesting too. There are many figures used in our books to help us understand such topics as chemical bonding, structure & geometry, and other types of reaction details.

Reviews About “Chemistry The Molecular Nature of Matter and Change 7th Edition”

Chemistry by Alton Gansky, published in 2002, states that this book provides a good introduction to chemical concepts and chemical reactions. The author attempts to show students how chemists think about their work; in so doing he touches on philosophical issues. Such as reality, determinism, objectivity, ethics, chance phenomena (black swans), chaos theory, etc. However there are some minor errors in his text e.g., he mentions free radicals but not reactive oxygen species (ROS). He also uses pi bond instead of sigma bond for describing double bonds between carbon atoms. Overall it is an excellent text for understanding chemical concepts and reaction mechanisms including acid-base chemistry.

About “Martin Silberberg” the Author

Martin Silberberg is Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at Harvard University. He has authored four other editions of Chemistry, each one a bestseller. His work covers many areas of chemistry, such as physical chemistry, nuclear chemistry, biochemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry, chemical thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and kinetics. The author’s work is known for his ability to synthesize complex chemical concepts in straightforward terms that make them easy to understand. In addition to writing textbooks on general and organic chemistry. As well as biochemistry that has received praise from both instructors and students alike for their comprehensiveness and clarity. He has also written works such as The Briefest History of Time which offers readers a succinct. But compelling look at cosmology.
