Reviews About “The Bear and the Nightingale” by “Katherine Arden”

This isn’t your average fairytale. If you enjoy mythical characters (witches, trolls, ogres), then you will love Katherine Arden’s The Bear and The Nightingale. Vasilisa Vasilyevna becomes wrapped up in a dangerous world of magic and spirits when her stepmother declares she must be married to a powerful prince or they will all be killed. However, unlike snow white where it was said that she could only fall for someone of royal blood (so no one fell for her), Vasilisa falls in love with an older peasant boy named Konstantin.
