About “Katherine Arden” the Author of “The Bear and the Nightingale”
Katherine Arden has worked as a historian, medievalist, archivist, archaeologist, and college instructor. She graduated from Tufts University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in European history. While earning her master’s degree at Harvard University in 1994, she wrote her thesis on seventeenth-century Russian peasants. Her work has appeared in The Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, and Providence Journal. She currently lives in Seattle with her husband and three children where she writes full time.
