Review About “The French for Love” by “Fiona Valpy”
The French for Love (What is required?) All you will have to carry out is definitely go through a copy of The French for Love and also read it, maybe more than once. If you’re like most folks who buy books in France, you may be planning a trip sometime in your life. Or perhaps you want to get away with someone who speaks fluent French. Or maybe you already speak some basic French and just want to brush up on what you know before going there yourself. Whatever your motivation, having something practical may be in order—and that could mean something different than The History of France or even Gastronomy: A Way of Life.
About “Fiona Valpy” the author of “The French for Love”
I am an author, translator, and journalist who used to work at The New York Times. I grew up in Paris and wrote my first novel, The People Next Door, about a family of Americans living in France. It has been translated into numerous languages including Chinese, Korean and Portuguese (Brazil). I have lived in New York City since 2000 with my husband and two children. As you can tell from The French for Love, I speak French fluently. In addition to that, I’m pretty good at Italian and Spanish—the three Romance languages really aren’t that different from each other—and decent enough at German and Portuguese (again Brazilian) but alas! not quite there with Dutch or Mandarin.
