Reviews About “Fundamentals of Abnormal Psychology (9th Edition)”
This book is one that anyone who is studying abnormal psychology should have on their bookshelf as a reference guide and to help them understand certain concepts. Which are difficult to grasp due to all of it being very new. And it is different compared to other psychology textbooks you may have read in the past. This textbook was, at least for me, very helpful when studying topics like schizophrenia and hallucinations. Because it really helped me understand what those experiences would be like from an outside perspective. Since I can’t claim I fully understand having never had such an experience myself. So I feel someone like me could benefit greatly from having a book like this around for a time. When things were hard to grasp otherwise.
About “Ron Comer” the Author of “Fundamentals of Abnormal Psychology (9th Edition)”
Ron Comer is a Professor Emeritus at Ohio University, and he has been in academia for more than 40 years (with a short stint in the industry during that time). A quick check of his publication history, however, suggests he’s most interested in human behavior (from a psychological standpoint) as it relates to our basic needs. He’s published about 500 academic papers and served on several editorial boards for journals within his field. All-in-all, it seems fair to say that Dr. Comer knows what he’s talking about when discussing abnormal psychology—and while I’m not sure how much first-hand experience he has with clinical studies or hospital settings, I think we can agree that you are unlikely to find a better source than Dr.
