Michael S. Gazzaniga is a cognitive neuroscientist and professor of psychology at UC Santa Barbara. He was formerly on faculty at Dartmouth College. And earlier in his career, he trained in physics at MIT and worked for Bell Labs for five years as a microwave engineer. Dr. Gazzaniga’s research explores how differences in brain function account for individual variations in behavior. His work has been honored with numerous awards including a share of a Nobel Prize, election to all three major national academies (the National Academy of Sciences, The American Philosophical Society, and The Royal Society), and membership in several international scientific organizations.
