Liz Fenton is a journalist and educator based in New York City. She has worked at newspapers in New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, and San Francisco. Her first book about running marathons was published in 2008, her first true crime book about a murder on Cape Cod will be released by St. Martin’s Press in 2016 as The Killer Next Door. Her writing has been nominated for awards from Investigative Reporters and Editors and Scripps Howard Foundation Wire Service among others. She teaches journalism at Columbia University School of Journalism where she founded ProPublica Illinois and their team won a Pulitzer Prize for its work on gun violence in 2013.
