Ghosted is a 2017 novel that introduces readers to author Rosie Walsh and one of her protagonists, Laurel. Laurel is a hardworking single mother who has recently moved to Seattle, Washington. She’s been having trouble finding work and as she begins cleaning houses for some extra cash she meets two people; her new employers. The first is Warren, an architect with a chip on his shoulder about women with families. He’s rude, dismissive, and doesn’t want anything to do with her kids. Then there’s his wife Talia who is sweet but a little bit cold towards Laurel. It takes time but eventually they warm up to each other and make a solid connection that leads to more than just friendship between them. Little does Laurel know, however, she’s not part of their family or household at all; instead, she becomes something else entirely.

I don’t believe I have ever read a book that was truly as dramatic and suspenseful as Ghosted. The author, Rosie Walsh, did a phenomenal job of capturing my interest from start to finish. The book starts off fast-paced, leaving you unable to wait until the next chapter to see what happens next. As you progress through each page, so does your understanding of what is happening between characters and why they act in certain ways. Once I started reading Ghosted, it became very hard for me to put down. There were times when life would get busy for me and I had less time to read; however, once I picked up where I left off it was like remembering how much fun it was after watching a great movie! As all good books do, we eventually learn how everything comes together – with some answers leading us on different paths…
About “Rosie Walsh” the author of “Ghosted”
Rosie has a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from Southampton University, where she won several awards for her poetry. In 2011, after graduating with First Class Honours, she moved to London and began her career as a full-time writer. Rosie was brought up in Salisbury where she still lives with her husband and two children. Her debut novel, which became an Amazon bestseller within hours of its release date, is about three women who meet at a clinic to be sterilized at twenty-six.
