Young adult author Karen McQuestion was born in Manchester, England, the oldest of six children in a close-knit Catholic family. She says her earliest memories are of sitting on the stairs and listening to stories her mother told about growing up in Northern Ireland during World War II. These stories later inspired McQuestion to write her novel From a Distant Star, which has received much critical acclaim since its publication in January 2012.

The story just grabs you and does not let go until you have turned that last page. A wonderful blend of characters and emotion makes From a Distant Star by Karen McQuestion absolutely unputdownable! A perfect read for fans of science fiction who are looking for some excitement in their life! Highly recommended!!! Jekyll Snurvaas tells us about how she escaped with her son Kybik to join other survivors on Io. Thus far their survival rate is relatively high when compared to other parts of the world; but what will happen when there are more aliens than humans?
