The book covers everything you need to know about operating systems and computer hardware from the perspective of an experienced programmer. It describes how software interacts with the hardware and how user applications access the hardware. And it includes several practical examples of high-performance programming techniques that take advantage of modern computer hardware to achieve higher levels of performance. The book shows you how to write programs that maximize performance, portability, and other features while minimizing development time.

Reviews About “Computer Systems: A Programmer’s Perspective 3rd Edition”
I have bought a lot of programming books. And I can honestly say that Computer Systems is one of my favorite books. It provides detailed information on how a computer works, as well as assembly language. I recommend you to purchase it if you are serious about learning more in-depth information about how a computer works. This book will help you understand what makes things tick underneath all those cryptic comments in code. If you have an interest in low-level systems stuff, then look no further. My only advice is to be prepared for information overload. And focus on one aspect at a time instead of trying to absorb everything at once..!
