About the Authors
Margaret Lial is Professor Emerita of Mathematics at Arizona State University. She earned her BS from Stanford University and her Ph.D. from Purdue University. After teaching at Purdue for six years, she moved to Washington D.C., where she was an instructor for five years in national defense programs at George Washington University. Since then she has been at Arizona State working as a faculty member in mathematics and statistics. She received ASU’s Graduate Teaching Award twice and its Faculty Recognition Award once.
