About “Laura E. Berk” the Author
Laura E. Berk, Ph.D., is a Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State University. She received her B.A. from the University of California-Davis and her Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1996. Dr. Berk received an NIH career development award for her postdoctoral research on brain imaging techniques at Georgetown Medical School, an NIH F32 training grant for investigating infant origins of resilience at Yale University, and an NIMH R01 grant for examining adolescent peer relationships as a predictor of depression among African American youth in public housing communities at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute.
