The Highway by C.J. Box is the latest thriller novel in the Joe Pickett series, and it’s one of the best so far. It picks up where Ambush left off, with Joe now looking over his shoulder more than ever as he becomes involved in an environmental cause that could threaten to turn violent at any moment. The story itself does leave some loose ends that aren’t addressed until later in the book. But overall it still works as an incredibly fast-paced page-turner that will leave you satisfied by the time you get to the end

The Highway is a must-read book that was released in 2010 as a follow-up to both of its previous installments, and yet it still remains one of my favorites on my list of books I highly recommend. To be honest, there were very few times when I had trouble putting down The Highway; it’s an exciting read from beginning to end, and most importantly, you never feel lost with each character and their personalities throughout their journey for vengeance for their loved ones who have been killed in these horrific situations at hand. In many ways, The Highway is all about survival with each character playing an important role for his or her individual cause; therefore, coming full circle in every aspect imaginable makes for one heck of a read!
About “C.J. Box” the author of “The Highway”
J. Box (born October 29, 1957) is an American author of mystery novels and thrillers. He has written twenty novels in three different series: The Joe Pickett series, The Walt Longmire series, and Stand-alone novels (some co-written with family members). C. J. Box was born in Casper, Wyoming on October 29, 1957. He grew up in nearby Gillette. He graduated from Billings Senior High School where he was active in school theatre productions and then studied political science at Rocky Mountain College where he also took acting classes. As a theater major, he played roles such as Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
