Helen Fielding’s Bridget Jones’s Diary tells the story of the titular protagonist. And her difficulties in dealing with modern life in London. The novel was inspired by Fielding’s own experience as an unmarried thirty-something who gained weight while working at magazines that promoted the thin woman as ideal. She based the character of Bridget on herself and many of her friends. The novel has since been adapted into several films, including one in 2016 starring Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth.

Reviews About “Bridget Jones’s Diary” by “Helen Fielding”
This book was amazing! I couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for a funny, witty book to read, then I’d recommend that you read Bridget Jones’s Diary immediately. It was easy to follow and captivating at every page turn. If you’ve seen the movie then you know what it’s all about–but don’t expect to see how it ends because there are many more parts of Bridget’s diary (which she calls her thoughts).
About “Bridget Jones’s Diary” by “Helen Fielding”
Bridget is a single woman living in London who, like so many of us, wants to be happy and finds herself making all sorts of bad decisions to achieve that goal. Bridget has an eccentric group of friends and spends much of her time trying to find Mr. Right. The storyline moves quickly and is filled with humor—at least if you are familiar with British life (this was published in 1996). While it makes for fun reading, there aren’t any real nuggets of advice in here that will have lasting value.
