Malala, a New York Times Notable Book and Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2013, chronicles Malala’s incredible story from her perspective in her own words. On October 9, 2012, when she was fifteen years old, she woke up excited about an exam she’d studied for diligently. Because she spoke out for girls’ education rights and fought against policies that denied girls like her access to schooling, Malala had been targeted repeatedly over several years.
Reviews About I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
Now that I read a book about her, it’s kind of like meeting someone really famous and really cool. After reading her story, I just can’t put into words how much she has changed my view on Pakistan and its people. She gives us hope for peace in one of Earth’s most war-torn countries, something many of us will never see in our lifetimes. The fact that she could even write something so positive after all she went through is amazing. Keep working hard so we can live in a more peaceful place someday.
