The intro starts with Scarlett Dragna, the daughter of one of the evilest people alive. As she begins her journey on an adventure, she begins to understand that she isn’t like anyone else around her and everything may not be as it seems. Scarlett’s journey takes her to an even more magical place than she could ever imagine.

Caraval is a fun and enchanting story full of love, magic, and drama. The book has an amazing cast of diverse characters with unique perspectives, strengths, weaknesses, flaws, and skills. I read through it in less than 24 hours because it was so compelling! If you’re looking for a new fantasy series to read that’s unlike anything else out there (at least I haven’t come across any that are similar), Caraval is definitely worth your time. As soon as you finish reading it and start trying to wait patiently for book two, don’t forget to check out my review on Goodreads!

Stephanie Garber is an American author. She was born on October 6, 1988, in Los Angeles County, California. She graduated from New York University where she earned a BA in Writing. She later went on to earn an MFA from Lesley University. While at Lesley, she taught Advanced Fiction Writing for Children and Young Adults. In addition to writing, Stephanie has worked as a bookseller at Bookends in Ridgewood, NJ, and Books of Wonder in New York City; she also interned at The Little Review Literary Magazine while studying at NYU.
