The Temptation of Forgiveness is the 27th mystery of the Commissario Guido Brunetti, wherein a life-losing drug dealer along with a woman, both are among the long-lasting Venetian. Their apartments are visited by Brunetti.
In the early part of The Temptation of Forgiveness, there are two unsettled meetings of Brunetti. In the first meeting, his boos and dim Vice-Questor Giuseppe Patta invites him to his office. The boss of Brunetti calls him to enquire about the rumors that someone, inside his office, is leaking secret and classified information. The person is also involved in spreading the rumors about Patta’s henchman, Lt. Scarpa.
Paola, the colleagues of the Brunetti, her wife visits the Brunetti, who is teaching English at the University. On another side, professor Elisa Crosera thinks that her son is in a trouble. She thinks that her son wants to solve the issues of Brunetti and for this purpose, her son is ready to join cooperate with the drug dealer. These drug dealers are the parts of a chain that sells different kinds of drugs to the students.
At this stage, the Venetian police interfere with the matter and keep a special eye on the activities of the drug dealer. The policeman observes the incoming and outgoing of drug dealers, their activities, attending parties, whatever drug dealers do, police keep a complete record of their moment.
The basic theme behind “The Temptation of Forgiveness” is the supremacy of rule of law. The moral result that arises from the story of the novel is to implementation of rules and law in society. In a society where law rules are successful and a society where lawyers are not implemented, that society becomes a jungle.

Donna Leon, a novelist, was born on September 28, 1942, in Montclair, New Jersey, United States of America. She’s an American author of a famous series of crime novels set in Venice, Italy. She had been awarded Corine Literature Price in 2003 for this novel. She started her Ph.D. on Jane Austin at an Iranian University but interrupted due to the revolution in 1978-79.
