Emily Hughes is the central character of the novel, resting other characters are Emily’s friend Sloane and Sloane’s parents. The story circles around Emily and Sloane. From school life, both are best mutual friends but with different natures.
Emily is boring, has the fear to get out of her shelter, prefers to without the social aspect of life. However, in presence of Sloane, she is brave and daring and comes out from her shelter. Sloane prefers to live a social life and to visit different places and markets.
The interval of the story starts when Emily, in the morning, suddenly comes to know that her best friend Sloane is disappeared. The social life of Emily was totally reliable Sloane. She visits markets, attends parties, enjoys music, and watches movies in companionship with Sloane. But now, Sloane suddenly disappeared from the shelter. Emily feels like her social and spiritual life has come to an end.
But after a few days, Emily got an e-mail from Sloane and she informed me that her parent is stolen me from the shelter. There is a to-do list mentioned in the e-mail including some adventures, daring, funny, and difficult tasks. The list includes Go Skinny-dipping, Hug a Jamie, Steal something, and Attend a party, etc.

About “Morgan Matson”, the Author of “Since You’ve Been Gone”
Morgan Matson, the winner of the California Book Award, was born on September 19, 1981, in New York City. She completed her graduation from Occidental College in Los Angeles. She resides in her brother namely Jason Matson, along with her a pet dog named Kenneth.
Morgan authored her first novel “Top 8” published in 2008. However, she got the highest exposure when her 2nd novel was published in 2008 “Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour“. On publication of this novel, her name was shortlisted for the “Waterstone’s Book Prize” and got the award of ALA Top Ten Best Books for Young Readers.
