I downloaded The Rise of Magicks (Garnethill Trilogy #1) on my Kindle. I was a little sad to find that some things were left out and thus took away from my reading experience. Downloading The Rise of Magicks (Garnethill Trilogy #1) will probably be a one-time thing for me. However, I would have read it if I had picked up a copy at Barnes & Noble. One reason for downloading was because it’s a series, but now that I know there is an abridged version, that takes away from what is supposed to be my favorite part: continuation between books!

Something so big missing from The Rise of Magicks (Garnethill Trilogy #1) makes me wonder what else has been omitted in other books! I can’t say whether or not I’ll download another book after having read The Rise of Magicks (Garnethill Trilogy #1). I’m very disappointed with digital copies. If you want your readers to buy your book, don’t give them something less than they expect. There are too many people who love paperbacks and hardcovers for you to take advantage of us like that!

An audiobook version was released in 2016, narrated by Susan Ericksen. The novel is set in Colorado Springs and takes place both there and at some undisclosed locations around Earth. The story follows four siblings as they discover their gifts and begin using them to fight off demons that have been tormenting humanity for centuries.
