Overview About “Hurricane” by “Michael Wisehart”
Please! Don’t skip over my review because you think it’s just a book review. I spent hours reading Hurricane, and all those hours were so worth it. This book is an in-depth look at The Perfect Storm—the windstorm that occurred along the east coast on October 27, 1991—but Hurricane: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption tackles more than just winds & waves. Hurricane will suck you in like nothing else you’ve ever read. It will challenge your perceptions of tragedy and heroism. And there are more twists and turns in its plot than there are in any storm out there. The characters are real, they’re flawed, and they feel like old friends even after only a few pages. If you want to know what happened during one of America’s worst storms. OR if you want to know how people rise above their circumstances. OR if you simply want to be transported into another world for a few days. If any of these apply to you, then I highly recommend Hurricane. It was everything I hoped it would be and more… Thank You for Reading My Review! 🙂 …
Review About “Hurricane” by “Michael Wisehart”
Well, to be honest, I think it was quite different from what I was expecting; I didn’t know what to expect really but now that I’ve read it… well, let me just tell you about it. It’s about a girl called Mary Alice Young and her life as she starts a new life in California with her husband Ray after leaving Seattle following something that happened that caused some serious problems back home. That is as much of a plot summary as you will get from me because no one likes spoilers and sometimes we need to experience things for ourselves without any foreknowledge at all. This is a story about life, love, work, and family. There are so many themes running through hurricanes that it would take far too long to list them all here. If you want action, adventure or lots of twists then look elsewhere – Hurricane is not like that at all. Instead, what we have here is a character study of one woman’s life from start to finish.
About “Michael Wisehart” the author of “Hurricane”
I was born in Korea and grew up as an army brat. My father is a general and I’ve lived all over, including Germany, Italy, Florida, Hawaii, Kentucky, Virginia, and California. I live in Tampa now. I wrote my first story when I was seven years old and submitted it to Highlights for Kids magazine where it appeared a few months later. That got me started on my career! When Hurricane was first published in Korea people told me that they had never read anything like it before—I think that’s why it won several prizes there including one from Yomiuri Shimbun.
