The world is so real! I could see it clearly in my mind as I read along. The characters are full of depth and you can really connect with them as they go through their journey.

Poisonwell is a fantasy novel written by Jeff Wheeler. Set in southern Kessia, it follows former soldier Jonmarc Vahanian as he investigates a murder of a man whose body he finds in an abandoned well on his new employer’s property. The scene is familiar to Jonmarc, who was left for dead and assumedly poisoned in that same well himself just two years earlier. His only clues are an ancient map drawn in blood and some notes written in a mysterious language. That made up for any lulls along the way and kept me engaged until the end. The book will be published next month but you can read my review copy now!

About “Jeff Wheeler” the author of “Poisonwood”

Jeff Wheeler is a lifelong Minnesotan and popular fantasy and science fiction author. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, went to school at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and studied literature at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He began his writing career shortly after college when he penned his first novel (Hades’ Daughter) under a pen name while working full-time as an IT manager for Ford Motor Company.
