Watch Me Die is an incredible novel. I will grant it has a tight-as-hell plot, but what truly sets it apart from other thrillers is its relationship between Frank Elder and his family; especially between Frank and his son, Alex. Frank comes across as a complex character, flawed with more than a few eccentricities that make him wonderfully human – flaws to which we can all relate in one way or another. It’s hard not to feel for Frank as he struggles to keep his family together; struggling with an urge toward vengeance.

Lee Goldberg is an American screenwriter and author. He’s best known for his collaborations with director Danny DeVito, on projects such as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The War at Home, and Throw Momma from The Train. His first novel Watch Me Die (June 2009) was released to solid reviews and was nominated for a 2010 Nero Award for Best First Novel. Lee has been teaching writing classes since 1991 — everything from professional development seminars to full-blown college courses; writers in every field have sought out his advice or guidance over that time.
