This book is one of those rare gems that you don’t read so much as experience. As a Christian, it challenged me to consider more seriously just how real Satan and his demons are, and it led me to examine my spiritual state, among other things. Frank Edward Peretti (born August 8, 1939) is an American Christian novelist and apologist known for writing best-selling Christian fiction. His 1985 novel This Present Darkness was described as one of today’s most thought-provoking novels by Publishers Weekly. He holds a Ph.D. in English from New York University, where he was a student of literary critic Harold Bloom and wrote his dissertation on William Faulkner’s poetic imagery. He currently lives in Oregon with his wife, Charlene.
