Reviews About “Conversations with Friends” by “Sally Rooney”
This novel is a great example of small writing. There is no room for coincidence, for random ideas and actions, for things that are there just to make a story longer or more interesting. The whole novel was carefully put together in every aspect: from characters’ relationships to word choice. This book doesn’t contain any of those moments—every reaction was realistic and felt genuine as if I were listening to a friend describe their day-to-day experiences to me while we had coffee or over drinks. The language used throughout was beautiful in its simplicity but also substantial.
