In a way, suffering is what made Milly. Being trapped in your head isn’t suffering, she says. It’s suffering when you’re stuck in your body and not able to move it. In her teens, Milly was diagnosed with EDS, a chronic condition that means her joints have no cartilage or padding and dislocate easily. She was forced to use a wheelchair for six months and walk on crutches for a year. Milly’s mother asked a public-speaking coach to come to their house to teach Milly how to speak in front of people so she could one day have a job interview or give a talk at school or university.

Reviews About “Good Me Bad Me” by “ALI LAND”
Ali Land’s debut novel Good Me, Bad Me is a psychological thriller that questions what it means to be good or bad. She tells her story from two perspectives: one being Bridget, a young woman struggling with dissociative identity disorder and currently in a mental institution; and her other self Nel, an 11-year-old girl who has been through years of abuse from her mother. While on day release from an institution for young people diagnosed with DID (also known as a split personality disorder), Bridget meets Ada – another resident of the institute who suffers from autism and Asperger’s syndrome. Together they face hard times while staying at The Paradise Centre which aims to help reintegrate its clients back into society.
