Overview About “The Silver Witch” by “Paula Brackston”
In ancient Britain, there were five kingdoms of magic. But in a land where dreams and reality intertwine, it takes a powerful spell to make them fade away forever. Ishtar, the witch of the Old Kingdom has used a forbidden spell that has put her under a curse. In order to lift it, she needs help from supernatural creatures such as witches, fairies, and elves. But they are nowhere to be found because of her actions. Now Ishtar is faced with a dilemma: either she can suffer for all eternity or find new strength in someone unexpected… The synopsis is good, but I think you may have overthought it. The audience isn’t necessarily looking for complex plot lines when reading fantasy novels; most of them just want an entertaining story, not something overly complicated or thoughtful.
Reviews About “The Silver Witch” by “Paula Brackston”
It is a small novel, fast to read, and wonderfully easy to digest. And I like books which are full of surprises, especially if they contain dark ones that leave one feeling vaguely discomfited for days after reading. Like Jane Austen? Then you will adore The Silver Witch, just as I did. This is an incredibly romantic novel about love and passion…and ghosts! Imagine being forced to marry someone because of a curse left behind by your mother. It happened hundreds of years ago and now it could happen again…This is a beautifully written book with some enchanting pictures inside its pages; as gothic romance goes, you really can’t get much better than The Silver Witch.
About “Paula Brackston” the author of “The Silver Witch”
I live in an old house near Cambridge with my family. I have been writing ever since I can remember and was lucky enough to make a living from it for several years before becoming a full-time mother. These days, I manage to get my writing done during school hours or while on playground duty, although there’s also quite a bit of it that gets written late at night after everyone has gone to bed. Needless to say, our household tends not to sleep much! I am lucky enough to be able to write whatever takes my fancy and have recently published three books – Perfect Ten and Down Among The Dead Men being thrillers for adults and The Silver Witch being a children’s book – as well as numerous short stories, articles, and novellas.
