The Roses of May is a well-paced, entertaining read that will suck you in from start to finish. A thoroughly enjoyable thriller from an author who is rapidly becoming one of my favorites in contemporary women’s fiction. Her books are simple enough for a light beach read but complex enough to keep you thinking about them for days afterward and I find her ability to create real, genuine characters that you genuinely care about admirable. I know it’s early days yet but I predict huge things for Ms. Hutchison and it seems that she’s got all the components needed for commercial success; a great voice, an easy writing style, and page-turning plots with strong female protagonists – something which is sadly still lacking in many popular thrillers today.

Dot is known as a Texas author and lives on thirty acres in Texas with her husband and chickens. She is on Facebook and Twitter but she hasn’t tweeted or updated her FaceBook page in quite some time, so I am not sure if she even checks them at all.
