About the Authors
Gary Gygax was a professional game designer and co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons. Gary was born in 1938 in Chicago. He graduated from Lake Forest College with a degree in Chemistry. In 1966, he met Dave Arneson at a local hobby store who had been creating various role-playing games with his friends. They decided to start working on their own set of rules that would later become known as Dungeons & Dragons which they initially called the Fantasy Game. Their game became very popular among their gaming group and also among several friends at Tactical Studies Rules (TSR). In 1974, TSR published its rules as an official product for other people to play around with making it a classic tabletop role-playing game that is still popular today.
