About “James Kurose, Keith Ross” the Authors
James F. Kurose is a Professor in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University in 1987, 1989, and 1992 respectively; all in computer science. His research interests include data networks, wireless networks, and network security. Which he has taught extensively to undergraduates as well as graduate students at MIT since 1993. In 1997, Dr. Kurose became one of two founding faculty members of MIT’s new Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). In 1998-99, he was an International Research Scientist at France Telecom in Paris. Where his work focused on protocol performance issues related to streaming media services over high bandwidth networks. In 1999, he received an Outstanding Faculty Award from MIT’s School of Engineering for undergraduate teaching excellence.
