Cognitive psychology tries to understand how the human mind works through research and experimentation. The third edition of Cognitive Psychology was written in 1997 by Michael Eysenck. He has since passed away, and it was published in 1998. Since its first publication, this book has gone through numerous re-releases and many revisions. The fourth edition of Cognitive Psychology is set to be released on February 28, 2015. And it will come with some changes from previous editions of the book, including an updated research section.
Overview About “Cognitive Psychology: Connecting Mind, Research, and Everyday Experience”
This book is intended for psychology students in upper-level undergraduate or graduate courses in cognitive psychology. It also can be used by non-psychology majors who want a text that presents cognitive psychology from an applied point of view. The book organizes chapters around six central topics that reflect basic issues relevant to cognitive science: attention and memory, language processing, visual perception, problem-solving and reasoning, thinking styles (e.g., field dependence/independence), and thinking disorders (e.g., autism). Each chapter includes a brief introduction to key issues in cognition. There are many exercises at the end of each chapter that help students learn critical thinking skills so they can apply them to real-life experiences.
Reviews About “Cognitive Psychology: Connecting Mind, Research, and Everyday Experience”
This is not just a textbook. It is an excellent resource that can be used for learning cognitive psychology. An important part of our book is how to apply what you have learned from reading Cognitive Psychology to your daily life. The use of technology in Cognitive Psychology will also be covered throughout. With new content in each chapter, it is difficult for students to read only one chapter at a time. This interactive textbook allows them to read through multiple chapters online (or in print) and then continue with their studies from where they left off.
