Suzanne Kelman has been described as both one of the most interesting architects working today and a contemporary Renaissance woman. And it’s easy to see why when you look at her stunning portfolio. For more than two decades, she has focused on the intersection of architecture and urban design, creating visionary designs in London, China, Italy, Paris, Barcelona, and more. Through her forward-thinking work with SO-IL (the collaborative firm she co-founded), she continues to push the boundaries of architecture as an art form while also improving our cities through sustainable solutions.
Overview About “A View Across the Rooftops” by “Suzanne Kelman”
The Rooftops is a memoir about what it was like growing up in London’s East End. The book is not just a description of social life. But also a history of an era and its dramatic change over time. It tells stories of pre-war poverty, including that of my maternal grandparents who arrived from Russia around 1912. And my mother’s memories of bombing raids during World War II. However, as far as I know, there are no direct links between my family and John ‘Kettle’ Davies or Lottie Collins. Therefore, there are no chapters on their exploits. Although they did share many things in common with people living in London at that time: poor housing conditions, little money, and deprivation.
Reviews About “A View Across the Rooftops” by “Suzanne Kelman”
I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I did her first book and am looking forward to her next one. The books are very exciting in terms of plot. And there is always something unexpected happening – lots of twists and turns and surprises. Some could be considered quite gruesome but they certainly keep you hooked, wanting to know what happens next. I was reading one of these novels at work and couldn’t put it down! Very gripping-can’t wait for another novel! Very interesting! Has kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Can’t wait for her next book!
