Of all the books by Carolyn Brown, Long, Hot Texas Summer is one of my favorites. It isn’t just because it’s set in Texas (although it does help). But because it has everything I want from a good romance novel. The dual points of view of two strong female characters, romantic conflict, development, sizzling passion, and the list goes on. This book was so fun to read that I devoured it in one sitting, reading deep into the night before going to bed to wake up early in the morning. So I could finish reading this delightful novel.

Carolyn Brown has created a new book called Long, Hot Texas Summer that tells about two women who run away from their husbands to be at an all-girls ranch. The main characters are Jessie and Harley. They find out how much each other enjoy being there alone with all girls. This is a story about two women who were mad at their husbands for different reasons. They both wanted something different in life and couldn’t seem to find it with their partners. So they decided to take a weekend trip to Wrangler’s Oasis Ranch in South Texas where men aren’t allowed; or are they? These women will learn what it takes to get along while getting along just fine on their own together too.

If you are a romance reader, chances are you have read one of Carolyn’s books. If not then you need to correct that oversight as soon as possible! This is what I love about reading romance. Every book has a different plot and different characters but each one leaves me feeling happy because they always lead me to new authors and new series that become my favorites and stay on my must-read list for years to come.

Carolyn Brown is an award-winning author of more than twenty-five books. She was born and raised in East Texas and has lived most of her life in the Piney Woods. The mother of three sons, she lives with her husband, Tom (also an author), on a small farm near Shreveport, Louisiana. They are both retired from teaching school and spend their days writing full time.
