Coming Home is a novel written by Rosamunde Pilcher published in 1995. This novel is a great love story; it shows how perfect love can be, that no matter what life will throw at you, true love can conquer all. It tells of a couple’s lifelong struggle to make their marriage work despite having an alcoholic husband. And being surrounded by people who are dead set against them having any kind of happiness together. Beautifully written, Coming Home captures what true everlasting love really is. The story begins with a wedding during which we are introduced to Ellie, Adam, and her family; her parents Henry and Mary, her brother Richard and his wife Nellie.

About “Rosamunde Pilcher” the author of “Coming Home”

Rosamunde was born on December 21, 1923, in Berkshire, England. She died on July 2, 2007, in Oxfordshire. She had one sister and two brothers. Rosamunde loved to write since she was a child. When she was seven years old her parents bought her a typewriter so she could write stories at home instead of going to school. In 1942 she married and they moved to London where they had four children together: David (b 1945), Gillian (b 1947), Robert (b 1949), and Matthew (b 1954). In 1967 her husband died suddenly after a heart attack and Rosamunde moved with her family back to their native Oxfordshire, living at Hutton Court Farm near Stadhampton which is just west of Oxford in England.
