The story takes place in the 1960s but begins with Dominick being released from prison after serving time for murdering their brother, Teddy. He returns to his childhood home. They couldn’t be more different when it comes to life experiences and personality. They are so different that they are not even able to live together despite being lovers. And violence with poise and delivers an unexpected twist that will leave you reeling. It’s hard to believe IKNMTIT was Lamb’s debut novel. It’s so well-written and masterfully crafted, it easily could have been written by a seasoned author. The characterization is incredibly vivid, aided in part by some of the strongest dialogue I’ve read in a long time.

Wally Lamb is an American author and scholar. She is best known for his novels. She’s Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True. A professor of English at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT, he is also a prolific lecturer. He has served as a visiting writer or lecturer at over fifty schools and universities including Yale University, Harvard University, Drew University, and Washington & Jefferson College. Born on February 8th, 1950 in Stamford Connecticut as Walter Steven Lamb Jr., he earned both a Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University (1971) and a Master’s Degree from Long Island University (1972). He then went on to earn his Ph.D. in English literature from Washington & Jefferson College in 1977.
