Rachel is the central character of the novel and life-of-the-party sister. She is addicted to drugs, the lure of alcohol, and cocaine, etc. Furthermore, she loves to participate in meetings of men in bars, particularly men wearing tight leather pants. The story starts when Rachel admits to an addiction treatment center namely “The Cloisters”.
During the period of hospitalization, she lost everything including her boyfriend, her job, and her close relatives. Despite all these losses, she is charming, shining, and feeling very well. It is very difficult to understand and dig out the reason behind this shining and smiling. But very soon, she discovers that this addiction treatment center is an addictive place. This addiction treatment center is filled with middle-aged alcoholics, druggies, and some other addicts.
Rachel came here to find some love, peace, spiritual and moral values, and find some good for her health like a fun-loving gal. But she didn’t find much anything in this addiction treatment center. She becomes exhaustive. Therefore, her father lifted her from this center to an unfamiliar terrain of adulthood. There, she falls in love with a person, who helps her to return the normal life.
Rachel’s Holiday by Marian Keyes is an amazing book. It has a lesson and provides useful stuff for every drug addict and drug clinical experts. The content helps on how to get free and relieve drugs addictive from such drugs and alcoholic issues. This is completely hilarious beyond our imagination.

Mariana Keyes, one of the best and successful Irish novelist, was born on September 10, 1963. After completing her studies in Accountancy and Finance, she started to write in 993, when she authored a short story for the first time. Her major subject of writings is Family, Domestic Violence, Divorce, Drug Abuse, Mental Illness, and Alcoholism. Since 1993, she has authored 20 fiction and non-fiction novels.
