I personally would not read it as I didn’t enjoy Red Rising and honestly could not get into Golden Son. Though it might be different for others, I think there are better books out there for science fiction readers that you can spend your time on. If you liked Red Rising, then please do continue on with his other series and enjoy; others may find more enjoyment elsewhere though. This is my opinion after reading both series and I did try to finish both books but they just never drew me in as many other science fiction books have (such as Ancillary Justice or Hyperion). Pierce Brown is an American author, best known for his debut novel Red Rising. He studied political science at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. The inspiration behind Red Rising came from a simple question he asked himself What would happen if we fell into another Dark Age?
