After I Do is a roller coaster of emotions. The reader meets Alison, who is happily married and has four kids, as she begins to discover her husband’s infidelity. The details of their marriage are unfolding and we are seeing it all through Alison’s eyes. You see how their relationship evolved and begin to question if you were there how would you handle it? How do you forgive someone who betrayed your trust? And then while questioning if you could ever forgive another person begins to realize that maybe something more happened… As many stories have before so does Alison. This book gives us an insight into what happens when betrayal enters your life and forces you to rethink everything you thought about your future with that person. This story was very engrossing and will keep anyone entertained for hours!

This book isn’t what you expect, but it is a good story. The three main characters are very different and so relatable. They all make mistakes, which is important to read about because we don’t always portray that in novels. A couple of parts of After I Do were slow, but overall it was a good book that provides insight into how people react in life after such events occur. If you have time to read one love story then pick up After I Do. Taylor Jenkins Reid is an American writer of literary fiction and contemporary women’s fiction. She has published three novels and one book of non-fiction, as well as a collection of personal essays, titled Forever, Interrupted. In 2015, her debut novel Before I Fall was named a Printz Honor Book by ALA and won Amazon’s Kindle Book of The Year for Fiction in both 2015 and 2016. She earned her BA from Stanford University and her MFA from UCLA. Her second novel, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, is due to be released on January 9th, 2018. All proceeds will be donated to RAICES (Refugee Aid & Immigration Center).
