The Liar’s Daughter is a story about a young girl named Mary. She was born in 1934, and her mother died giving birth to her. She was raised by her father and his new wife on their small farm in Maine. Her mother told them she had to keep it a secret because she wasn’t supposed to be born and people would be looking for her. Mary was always hearing little voices around her but never knew what they were telling her, or who they belonged to until much later in life. This book will take you through Mary’s journey of finding out who she really is and why she was hidden from everyone. This book shows how one person can make a difference in someone else’s life just by doing something kind that makes someone else smile. It also shows how one person can change another person’s life forever even if they don’t know it at first. I highly recommend reading The Liar’s Daughter because it is an amazing book with great characters that will have you laughing, crying, and thinking throughout your entire read!

Megan Cooley Peterson was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She received a BA in English and an MA in Renaissance Literature from Boston College. Her novels are set in various locations around New England, including Boston, Newport, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. Megan has been writing since she was a young girl. She fell in love with books at age three when her grandmother gave her a small library of books, which included several classic children’s stories like A Little Princess and Rascal. She is most well known for her first novel A Step Toward Falling, which was released by HarperCollins/Harlequin Teen imprint Balzer + Bray on May 6th, 2013.
