Back Blast is also a work of fiction featuring Tom Clancy’s well-known character of Jack Ryan but in an all-new standalone plot set outside of previous books about Jack Ryan. This popular series’ newest installment is written by bestselling author and espionage expert, Mark Greaney. The story focuses on a CIA agent named John Kelly who confronts Russian terrorists while on vacation with his family at home in Virginia. An explosion hits their home before he can react and takes away Kelly’s sense of smell.

Well, I have to say that I am really excited about today’s review. We are going to be talking about a book called Back Blast (written by Mark Greaney) – as you may have gathered from our title. If you do not know what it is, no problem; we will tell you everything that you need to know in order to get a better understanding of exactly what we are talking about here. To begin with, though, I think it would be helpful if we gave a quick introduction as to who Mark Greaney is and what he has written in general.
Firstly, let us just say that his books are some of my favorite thrillers out there. I love how he can take something that could seem quite boring or dull and turn it into something so action-packed and exciting. The second thing that you should know about him is that all of his books revolve around one character: John Clark. For those of you who don’t know, John Clark is an ex-Navy SEAL turned CIA operative. He first appeared in Without Remorse by Tom Clancy (which was also made into a movie starring Willem Dafoe). In other words, Mark Greaney has taken on one of Tom Clancy’s most popular characters and continued his story after Clancy had passed away. This means that all of these books are technically considered spin-offs rather than actual sequels – but they still hold up very well nonetheless!
About “Mark Greaney” the author of “Back Blast”
Mark Greaney is a former attorney turned writer. He attended Kansas State University and graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. From there, he attended Baylor Law School and graduated in 1999 with his Juris Doctorate. In 2003, he was admitted to practice law before state courts in Texas, New York, and California, as well as federal courts in the Southern and Northern Districts of Texas. He practiced business litigation at one of Houston’s largest law firms while also serving as an adjunct professor at his alma mater teaching first-year legal writing courses. After practicing law for several years—and after completing two military tours in Iraq—he decided to pursue a career change from practicing law to writing books full-time.
