Fade Away is another winner in an outstanding series of mysteries by popular thriller author, Harlan Coben. There are a couple of subplots running throughout Fade Away, but they intertwine perfectly as well. Readers will definitely enjoy watching how everything comes together in its very satisfying ending. Once again, Mickey Bolitar is our primary protagonist who has plenty of mystery to solve when his cousin Jonah dies mysteriously in a car accident after having just received a threatening message on his phone from an unknown caller only moments before dies. The case is handled by none other than Myron Bolitar’s ex-wife (and Mickey’s mother), Laurie Bolitar.

The second of two books featuring Myron Bolitar, in Fade Away. He’s now back in his native New Jersey and still working as a sports agent. He’s hired to look into an alleged gambling scandal at an NBA team but soon finds himself embroiled in something more dangerous than a mere point-shaving scheme. When his client suffers life-threatening injuries during a game and is barely able to communicate after that, Myron begins to dig into what happened. And discovers there may be connections to some unsolved murders from years before. As always with Coben, it’s a well-written story with believable characters and exciting action scenes, and I’m looking forward to reading more about Myron in future books.
