The year is 1967, during China’s Cultural Revolution. Ye Wenjie, daughter of a prominent professor, witnesses Red Guards beat her father to death in the streets. At the same time, strange alien forces are invading Earth from an unknown location in space and no one knows. Where they come from or what their intentions are. The English translation of Three-Body was released on October 7, 2014. The author of The Three-Body Problem, 刘慈欣 (Liu Cixin), was born in 1961 in Shandong Province. During his time as a student at Beijing’s Tsinghua University, he published several short stories that were quickly recognized for their style and originality. He has since written four novels: The Silk Road Trilogy (Dark Forest, Three-Body Trilogy) and Death’s End (sequel to The Three-Body Problem).
