About “Eric Foner” the Author
Eric Foner is a professor of history at Columbia University. He is a distinguished scholar and writer who has been awarded numerous honors for his work, including two Pulitzer Prizes. Eric Foner was elected president of both the Organization of American Historians and the American Historical Association. He also served as chair of the Social Science Research Council’s Commission on Public History. Which issued a report titled Public History in America: A New Field Emerging. In 2009 he was selected to deliver Howard’s Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize address at Gettysburg.
