About “James Stewart, Lothar Redlin, Saleem Watson” the Authors

James Stewart is one of the most respected and widely read writers in mathematics today. He holds undergraduate degrees from Princeton University and a doctorate from MIT. Dr. Stewart has taught at Williams College since 1964 and served as chairman of their math department until his retirement in 1996. Lothar P. H. Redlin is Professor Emeritus of mathematics at California State University in Hayward. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Washington State University and has done graduate work at New Mexico State University and Stanford University. Dr. Redlin was chairman of mathematics at what is now Mt. San Antonio College from 1967 to 1971 before joining California State University. Dr. Watson has been a professor of mathematics at Excelsior College in Albany, NY since 2001. He received his Ph.D. from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
