Overview About “The Grammarians” by “Cathleen Schine”

This is a fictional story about two couples who are both struggling with their marriages. They travel to Paris for vacation. One couple takes advantage of all that Paris has to offer, but they also take advantage of each other. The other couple seeks out help from a therapist in hopes that they can rekindle what they once had. This is a moving story that will make you think twice about your relationships and marriage. The book raises many questions about how people act and react when their spouses are not available to them. How do people cope? What happens when they are left alone? Will their relationship last forever? Is it possible for someone to fall in love with someone else and leave their spouse behind without any guilt or remorse?

Reviews About “The Grammarians” by “Cathleen Schine”

One of my favorite books! I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. It was such a quick and enjoyable read, especially if you love to read and write. The writing, in general, is just superbly beautiful, yet very clear and understandable (I hate when it’s hard to understand what an author is trying to say). The main character has such a wonderful voice! You can hear how she talks and thinks about things as she describes them so accurately in her narration. The book puts into perspective all of those questions that we have had about grammar at some point or another during our schooling/college/work life – questions like Do we need all these rules?
