She soon learns that she has been chosen as one of thirteen people for a dangerous journey. And she must find out what it is about herself that makes her special and why these evil wolves have come back. To survive she will have to trust those around her even though some are not who they seem. As they travel through each door they are forced to face many trials and begin discovering their hidden depths within themselves. This book was very hard for me to put down. Because I had no idea what was going to happen next! It was very unique in its writing style but it just made it even better!

Laura Ruby grew up on Long Island and still lives there. She is a member of Science Fiction Writers of America. She has been publishing stories in various magazines and anthologies since 2004. Her previous book A Creature of Moonlight won an Alex Award in 2008 and was named one of Booklist’s Top Ten First Novels for Youth. In 2009 she was nominated for an Andre Norton Award for a best Young Adult fantasy novel. She also writes flash fiction and erotica under another name.
